Homemade Fruit Popsicles: A Healthy Summer Treat for Kids

Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time for refreshing, cool treats like homemade fruit popsicles. Packed with natural sweetness and nutrients, they’re a fantastic way to help your kids stay healthy while enjoying a delicious snack. In this post, we’ll share a simple recipe to make your own fruit popsicles at home, with no added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of your favorite fruits (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup of unsweetened yogurt, coconut milk, or fruit juice
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup for added sweetness

Instructions

  1. Choose your fruits. You can use any combination of fruits you like, such as strawberries, blueberries, bananas, mangoes, or pineapples. Fresh fruit is ideal, but frozen fruit works too.
  2. Blend the ingredients. In a blender or food processor, combine the fruit, yogurt (or coconut milk/fruit juice), and optional sweetener. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into popsicle molds. Carefully pour the mixture into your popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top to allow for expansion as the popsicles freeze. Insert the popsicle sticks.
  4. Freeze. Place the popsicle molds in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely frozen.
  5. Enjoy! To remove the popsicles from the molds, run warm water over the bottom of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the popsicles out.

These homemade fruit popsicles are a great way to encourage your kids to eat more fruits while enjoying a sweet and refreshing treat. You can even involve your kids in the process by letting them choose their favorite fruit combinations and helping with the blending and pouring. It’s a fun and healthy family activity that everyone can enjoy!

Remember, kindness goes a long way; you never know the battles others are fighting.
