Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (14.5 oz) of diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (8 oz) of tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp of chili powder
- 1 tsp of ground cumin
- 1 tsp of paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving
- Sour cream, for serving
- Fresh cilantro, chopped, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Transfer the beef mixture to your slow cooker.
- Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir everything together.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and some fresh cilantro.
